A disturbing late-night scene has stirred widespread concern after a video showed a woman, allegedly drunk, slumped motionless on the back of a Rapido bike while the rider struggled to keep her from falling off.
The footage, shared on Instagram, has prompted serious questions about passenger safety, bystander behavior and the responsibilities of ride service operators.
In the clip, a bystander films the situation as the woman slowly leans sideways and begins slipping off the two-wheeler. The Rapido rider can be seen trying to stabilise her with one arm, clearly worried she might topple onto the road at any moment.
As the woman continues to slide, the man recording is heard saying, “Let her go, let her fall down,” even as the rider attempts to wake her, repeatedly urging her to sit properly. Despite his efforts, she remains entirely unresponsive.
Eventually, the woman loses her balance completely and falls off the bike, but the rider manages to catch her before she hits the ground too hard, preventing what could have been a serious injury.
What unfolded after that moment is still unknown. The video, now widely circulated, has sparked intense reactions online. Many viewers expressed alarm over the woman’s condition, while others raised concerns about the safety protocols for ride-sharing drivers dealing with such situations.
The clip also triggered a discussion around responsibility. Some users argued that the rider should have sought immediate help, while others tagged the Delhi Police’s Instagram handle asking whether the “woman reached safely later or not,” though no official update has been provided yet.
